Our climate change commitments

Polyafric are a future facing enterprise that learn from the lessons of the past , embracing the spirit of technological advancement whilst adhering to age old lessons and principles to draw experience from and craft a path of development through innovation. We are building upon our established core business’s and unlocking their nascent potential to build a cleaner , environmentally harmonious and more economically robust business. We believe that with innovative approaches these concepts are inherent to one another. Investing in the future with an energetic focus on agricultural and chemical technologies , biochemicals , biofuels , nuclear & renewable energy as well as circular economy principles. We believe that the earth provides everything that we need and with the right intentions , effort and respect for our environment , the opportunity for humanity to progress does not have to come at the cost of the earth but rather in harmony with its well being. For this purpose we are invested in harnessing the power of nature through responsible innovation and engineering practices , building on and expanding proven engineering concepts which have been developed by generations gone by with a mindful respect and gratitude for our our environment.

Our core principles and beliefs

Humans are a small yet integral part of nature, not indifferent but certainly not in dominance of earth. With this in mind we must respect our privileged position as intelligent life and concentrate our efforts and resources to bringing about a sustainable future for the generations to come. We believe the ingredients for this sustainable future have all been inherently provided to us and with applied positive intention and natural intellect  , we are capable of bringing about a more equitable and sustainable life for all.

Biochemicals & bio fuels

Biochemicals & biofuels present a unique opportunity for the world to decarbonize. Using renewable feedstocks in the form of biomass and age old chemical engineering processes , we are able to produce fuels and chemicals that are molecularly the same as fossil fuel equivalents. The process of growing the plant based feedstocks captures carbon from the air through photosynthesis whilst also providing a rich ecosystem for complimentary animal life and micro organisms to thrive in. By employing responsible farming practices and soil preservation techniques as well as incorporating cutting edge agri tech advancements we are able to insure an abundance of feedstocks that contribute positively to the world in the form of a thick renewable plant blanket. Absorbing corbon dioxide and exhaling oxygen whilst allowing us to acquire the fuels , chemicals and plastics products we need to run the modern world. All the while , significantly reducing harmful SOx & NOx emissions in the air due to the minimal use of fossil fuels across the entire value chain , from energy production to feedstock production as well as from the upstream process all the way to the end of the downstream.

Sustainable & precision agricultural practices

Based on our experience and active participation in the agricultural industry across a wide range of value add’s , and considering our global reach and innovative approach to incorporating technological advancements. Polyafric are well positioned as an operator , technical advisor and agri engineering consultant to major agri projects across the African continent. We are proliferating the advancements in farming technologies and bringing modern best practice methods in the area’s of seeds  , crop irrigation , fertilizer usage , GMO technologies in the instance of specifically target non food grade applications such as bio mass feedstock for biochemical and fuel production.

We leverage our strong technical proficiency from our agronomists and biochemists to work with a scientific and calculating methodology based approach to insure optimal and where required , balanced outcomes in both sustainability and commercial KPI’s.

Recyling & circular economy principles

Recycling & circular principles hold a key place in the worlds responsible and sustainable economy future. With a curated approach to material consumption , collection and processing it is already well proven that we are able to reuse and recycle a wide range of strategic materials. Reducing the need increased virgin material consumption. These principles are applicable across many major product segments such as plastics , metals , glass , cement , compost and food waste.

Africa has significant ground to cover in implementing sustainable recycling practices. As a leading participant in the material science industry and a local community member , Polyafric have a responsibility in participating in this transition. We support recycling initiatives across the continent , collecting and redistributing waste material that can be reinjected into the value stream.

Renewable energy

Polyafric support the implementation and proliferation of renewable energy as an ancillary support system to base load emission free energy sources such as nuclear. Our downstream entities are actively involved in the importation and redistribution of solar power solutions and complimentary hardware such as inverters and batteries , addressing the retail and commercial markets across the African continent.

Nuclear energy

We believe that the peaceful atom has the potential to play a primary role in ushering in a low carbon economy powered by clean , cheap , safe and abundant energy sources. Nuclear energy has been commercially active for over 70 years and since then it has amongst the best safety and operational efficiency track records out of any energy source in the history of earth.

Traditional large reactor projects are costly and technically challenging to execute as well as subject to rigorous scrutiny and often inefficient government bureaucracy. Polyafric believe in the potential for next generation SMR ( small modular reactors ) as well as micro reactors to provide base load power for a world of abundant energy , a world where people in developing nations can finally power their own development with the resources in their ground. We believe that this technology has the ability to usher in an energy landscape characterized by micro grids that require very little infrastructure build out and uplift the largest of cities like Kinshasa , DRC to the most remote communities in the world , all whilst being emission free and generating an abundance of energy through dense power sources.

As specialists in the African engineering and policy environment , Polyafric are actively working with industry in furthering the development of this technology through engineering , design , development , production and policy consultation. Educating the world on the inherent passive safety characteristics of next generation reactors is a critical step in overcoming truly unfounded stigmatism that have long stifled this technology. We are committed to the transition for an equitable future for all and we firmly believe in the potential for nuclear energy to unlock this reality.
